Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 1 run in the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 semi-final

Sylhet (92 News) – Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 1 run after a thrilling encounter in the semifinals of the Women’s Asia Cup.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 122 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Samara Wickrama was the top scorer with 35 runs. Nashahr Sindhu took 3 while Nida Dar, Sadia Iqbal and Ayman Anwar got 1 and 1 out.

Chasing the target, the Green Shirts managed to score 121 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted twenty overs. The sensational match was decided on the last ball. Captain Basma Maruf 42, Nida Dar 26, Muniba Ali 18, while Umaima Sohail scored 10 runs.

Ainuka Ranavir was declared the player of the match for getting 2 wickets for 17 runs. The final of the tournament will be played between India and Sri Lanka on Saturday, October 15.
