Just In: Former Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez has appreciated the decision to promote Shadab Khan to bat at number six in One Day Internationals. He also claimed that Shabad could benefit Team Pakistan in White-ball Cricket with his extraordinary bowling abilities and batting at number 6.
The Head Coach of Team Pakistan has shuffled Shadab Khan’s batting order in the first ODI against the Netherlands by sending him on number 6. However, the experiment worked in the team’s favor as the young all-rounder scored 48 runs off just 28 balls.
Mohammad Hafeez appreciated the management decision via a tweet in which he wrote, “Good to see Shadab Khan batting at number 6 in ODI. By promoting him to number 6 and with his bowling skills, he can play a massive role in ODI Cricket for Pakistan. Well done, Saqlain Mushtaq.”
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has a busy white-ball schedule ahead as they will play two major cricketing leagues, Asia Cup 2022 and ICC T20 World Cup 2022, within four months. In such a scenario, the performance of all-rounder Shadab Khan matters a lot for the whole squad.
Pakistan is touring the Netherlands for a 3-ODI match series. The opening match between both teams had played on 16th August 2022 at Rotterdam, in which the touring side Pakistan defeated the Dutch team by 16 runs.
