Pakistan Captain Baber Azam nominated for Sitara-e-Imtiaz

Just In: Pakistan Cricket Team Skipper Baber Azam, is nominated for Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan on the 75th independence day of the country. With it, Azam became the youngest cricketer conferred with Pakistan’s third most prestigious civilian award.

Pakistan Cricket Board expressed their feeling for the nominated cricketer while sharing this news on their Twitter Account. “PCB Congratulates Masood Jan (Blind Cricketer), Pakistan Men’s Team Captain Baber Azam, and Pakistan Women’s Team Captain Bismah Maroof at being conferred with Civil Awards on Pakistan’s 75th Anniversary.”

The 27-year-old has been awarded this award in acknowledgment of his services to Team Pakistan. Baber Azam is among the Finest Batters in World Cricket, with his name in the top five spots of all-format ICC Rankings, i.e: one-day internationals, Tests and T20Is.

Along with Azam, Women’s Team Skipper Bismah Maroof will also receive Tamgah-e-Imtiaz, and Blind Cricketer Masood Jan will be honored with the Pride of Performance award on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the country.

It is pertinent to mention that the Federal Government of Pakistan nominated 253 Pakistani Citizens as well as Foreigners for different National Awards for showing excellence and courage in different fields. The award giving ceremony will take place on 23rd March 2023.

All nominees will receive awards from the President, Dr. Arif Alvi, on the upcoming Pakistan Day. The ceremony will be held at Presidential Palace, Islamabad, while different TV Channels will also provide a Live Telecast of this function in Pakistan.
