Power Hitter “Asif Ali” opens up on Asia Cup 2022

Just In: Pakistan power-hitter and hero of the 2019 World Cup Mohammad Asif has committed to play the best cricket during the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, irrespective of the opponent. The young cricket shared his aggressive thoughts on the sidelines of NHPC, Lahore.

While speaking in an Exclusive Interview with a Local TV Channel at the National High-Performance Centre, he said, “I am not just considering India as a rival, my focus is on all the participating teams of Asia Cup 2022.”

The right-hand batter further added, “We should not look at the opponent and focus on playing good cricket”. Asif also commented on his training at NHPC, saying, “I focused on shot selection and improving power-hitting. People would see improvement in power-hitting in the upcoming matches.”

Pakistan is among the six participants in Asia Cup 2022. Recently, PCB announced the 15-member squad for this tournament, and Mohammad Asif’s name is in it. The 39-year-old batter is attending special training at NHPC before flying to Dubai to join the remaining squad, which is busy playing against the Netherlands right now.

Men in Green will play their opening match against India on 28th August 2022 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The participating teams of Asia Cup 2022 are Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and a Qualifying team, which will join them after finishing top in Asia Cup Qualifying Rounds.
