Just In: The defending champions of Pakistan Premier League, Lahore Qalandars, have revealed their expected squad for the upcoming Global T20 tournament 2022. The tournament includes 3-teams, while Namibia will host all the matches of this event.
Lahore Qalandars will play the opening season of the Global T20 League under the captaincy of Hamza Nazar. The youngster has impressed the selectors in previous games and finally got a chance to lead his team on such a big cricketing occasion.
The participating teams of the Global T20 League include the host Richelieu Eagles, Lahore Qalandars from Pakistan, and DP World Lions for South Africa. Initially, the Bengal team from India was scheduled to participate in the event, but they withdrew from the tournament after BCCI refused to issue NOCs to Indian players.
The opening match of the Global T20 League is scheduled on on 1st September 2022, whereas the Final match will be played on 5th September 2022. All the matches of this event will be hosted by Windhoek, Namibia.
According to the event’s format, the participating sides will play two matches against each other. Two teams will maximum victories will qualify for the Finals of the tournament. There will be 7 matches, including the big Final in the Global T20 League 2022.
Lahore Qalandars will play two 50-over matches against Richelieu Eagles right after completing this tournament. The 1st ODI between LQ vs RE will be played on 7th September, whereas the 2nd game is scheduled on 9th September 2022.
