Just In: Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal named Shahid Afridi’s Jammu Janbaz and Shoaib Malik’s Mirpur Royals as tough competitors in the upcoming Kashmir Premier League 2. Akmal itself is part of Bagh Stallions in KPL2.

While answering a question about Favorite Teams in KPL, Kamran Akmal reckoned that Janbaz and Royals could reach the Finals of KPL 2 as they have the best combinations and experienced players in both departments (Bowling and Batting).

Akmal said, “Jammu Janbaz have a good combination and also Shoaib Malik’s Mirpur Royals. These two teams will be tough opponents. Overall, all teams are good, having strong combinations. We, as a team, will try to play the best cricket to win the tournament.”

The opening batter also opens up about his younger brother Umar Akmal, who is part of Jammu Janbaz. “No one is your brother and friend on the field. Umar and I always share rivalry on the field. My focus will be to guide my bowlers and share a plan to win the game.” he added.

The 2nd successful season of Kashmir Premier League will start from 13 August 2022, whereas the Final Match will be played on 26th August 2022. All the matches of this tournament will be hosted by Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium.

KPL 2 features seven cricket franchises, including Muzaffarabad Tigers, Hawks, Jammu Janbaz, Mirpur Royals, Stallions, Kotli Lions, and Overseas Warriors. Rawalkot Hawks will defend their title in this tournament, and their 1st match is scheduled against Jammu Janbaz.
