Ahmed Shahzed picked as new “Captain” for Rawalakot Hawks – Kashmir Premier League

Just In: The management of Rawalakot Hawks has named Ahmed Shehzad as their new Skipper for the upcoming second edition of the Kashmir Premier League. According to Press Release, the decision was made by Rawalakot Hawks Chairman Jan Wali Shaheen.

The Chairman in his recent statement said, “Ahmed Shehzad not only played an important role in our success last season, but also our young cricketers got the great opportunity to learn a lot from him during this tournament.”

The Star Opener for Pakistan International Cricket Team, Ahmed Shahzed also expresses his emotions after this decision. He stated, “Rawalakot was very close to my heart. Winning the title last season is one of the memorable moments of my career.”

In Sha Allah, I will try my best to defend Kashmir Premier League Title. My Aim was to share experience with the youth of the team and especially Kashmiri Cricketers and provide them with the maximum opportunities”, he added.

Yesterday, the Team Chairman Jan Wali Shaheen with Ahmed Shahzad, Yasir Hameed, Asia Afridi, and Sameen Gul visited their hometown along with KPL Trophy. They were warmly welcomed by the fans and locals of the city.

The Kashmir Premier League is established by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The opening edition of this event was played in 2021 with six participating teams. However, the Kashmir League season 2 will expand the number of teams from six to seven.

Rawalakot Hawks are the defending champions of the 1st edition of the Kashmir Premier League. Among them, Bagh Stallions, Jammu Janbaz, Kotti Lions, Mirpur Royals, Muzaffarabad Tigers, and Overseas Warriors are other teams in this tournament.
