The high intensity game of the day has ended in Dhaka and it’s India who have managed to win it this time around. It was a low scoring game which was won by India by 7 wickets in the end.
Pakistan looked off-color in batting today. They had a shaky start with Kamran Akmal getting run out early. Though Shahzad and Hafeez got 22 and 15 to give them a bit of lift but they should have carried on for a bit longer. Same was the case with Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik who got to 33 and 18 respectively but then faltered playing an irresponsible shot.
It was Sohaib Maqsood towards the end who scored 21 runs from just 11 balls giving Pakistan a chance to get to a defendable total in the end. They managed to score 130 runs on a track that looked quite suitable for batting.
Amit Mishra picked up 2 wickets for India while a wicket each went to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Ravi Jadeja.
When India came out to chase a small total, their batsmen looked tentative at the start but then started to open up. Sharma and Dhawan survived a few half chances and provided India with a solid 54 runs foundation. But then both faltered within 10 runs and India were 64 for 2.
With just the addition of 1 run, Yuvraj Singh missed a straight Yorker from Bilawal Bhatti and left India struggling for 65 for 3. But after that it was Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli who stood there till the end and won it for India. Though, Raina was dropped by Afridi in the slip but other than that it was really a flawless innings by him.
Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul and Bilawal Bhatti picked up a wicket each for Pakistan today, but that was never going to be enough for the green team to win it. Saeed finished with the best bowling figures for Pakistan as he got 1 for 18 in his 4 overs.
