A Big defeat in 2nd test and Imran Tahir controversial words brought Pakistan vs South Africa ODI series to the maximum hype and everyone in two countries looking for ODI series starting exactly after the test series that ended up with 1-1. Teams travelled to Sharjah for a 1st ODI match in hotter conditions of the desert yet attractive cricket ground. AB de Villiers won the toss and felt it better to have batted first at not a very good track to bat on. Pakistani fans got a hope when Tall Mohammad Irfan struck Ingram on the very first ball of the innings.
The magician, Saeed Ajmal got his bowling tricky and struck South Africa badly and restricted South Africa to 183. Saeed Ajmal wrapped up 4 wickets for 30 runs.
Pakistani batting line up troubled when Imran Tahir got Umar Akmal out and Pakistan was needing only 19 Runs. Earlier, Ahmed Shehzad played a sensational knock of 58 runs. Hafeez, Misbah and Umar Amin contributed few bucks and in the end Shahid Afridi and Sohail Tanvir controlled the innings but Sohail Tanvir soon got out and Shahid Afridi was the only player who had to bring Pakistan to success that was only 10 runs away.
Shahid Afridi failed to bring Pakistan to success and Pakistan lost.
