After winning a thriller on Sunday, Pakistan are now ready to take on Bangladesh who they had beaten in the Final of last Asia Cup. It’s really going to be another thrilling encounter because Bangladesh do have some extraordinary prospects in their team as well. The match is scheduled on 4th of March, 2014 at Mirpur.
Bangladesh had the most unexpected of losses in the last match when they played against Afghanistan and made a mess of it after getting 5 Afghan wickets for just 90 runs. Their bowlers were pretty ordinary against India as well and now they have to show some flares if they have to win against Pakistan considering the way Pakistan have been playing so far in this tournament. But the positive for Bangladesh is the way their batsmen are playing. There have been some brilliant innings played by their batsmen right from the start of the tournament. In the first match it was Mushfiq and Anamul who played brilliant knocks and in the second match Mominul Haque, Nasir Hossain and Ziaur Rahman played handy inning of 50 and 41 each respectively. If Bangladesh can give their bowling a boost, they can really have some good chance for them in the next match. Arafat Sunny, Rubel Hossain and Abdur Razzak will be the key bowlers for them in the next encounter.
Pakistan’s efforts in the tournament have been simply ineffable. They have been bowling well, batting well and fielding well and what else you can expect from Green Shirts. Only Umar Akmal and Misbah seemed to be in form in the first couple of games but against India it was totally different. The openers, Hafeez, Maqsood and Afridi did it for Pakistan in the end. Hafeez played brilliantly for his 75 hitting 2 towering sixes and 3 striking boundaries. Maqsood played well for his 38 but unfortunately got run out otherwise they would have won it quite easily. But the 18 balls cameo from Afridi did it in the end for Pakistan. So, Bangladesh will have to be really watchful in the next match as most of the Pakistani batsmen look in groove and will go hard at them in the next match. Mohammad Talha was a welcome inclusion in the playing XI against India and he will be expected to impress yet another time against Bangladesh with the nip and bite in his bowling.
