India Thrash Bangaldesh in Asia Cup 2014

The second match of Asia Cup 2014 has ended in Fatulah, Bangladesh. After winning the toss India decided to bowl first and in the end won the match by 6 wickets.

When Bangladesh started to bat, they lost Shamsur Rahman for 7 and Mominul Haque for 23. At that time the total was just 49 and since then it was the captain, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Anamul Haque who put together 133 runs for the 3rd wicket partnership leading Bangladesh towards a competitive total. But once both of them departed, no one else could really fire for Bangladesh and eventually they managed 279 runs in their allotted 50 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Mohammad Shami Picked up 4 wickets for India while a wicket each was picked up by Kumar, Aaron and Ashwin.

India chase started with a reasonable 50 runs partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan before Dhawan got one in front of the wicket and got out for a handy 28. Sharma followed him soon after when the total was 54. But after that it was a Kohli-Rahane show for India today. Both added 213 runs together making the chase look so easier. Kohli got out in 46th over when Rubel Hossain knocked his off-stump over with a brilliant Yorker. After adding just 5 more runs to the total Rahane also got out chipping one in the air straight to long on. Rayudu and Karthik then finished the game sensibly by taking a few singles.

For Bangladesh, a wicket each went to Rubel Hossain, Abdur Razzak, Ziaur Rahman and Sohag Gazi.
